The Protector Palm Pistol is a small pistol designed by French designer Jacques E. Turbiaux to be concealed in the palm of the hand. It was unique in that the revolver was clasped in a fist with the barrel protruding between two fingers and the entire handgun was squeezed in order to fire a round. The design was meant to resemble a pocket watch to the extent of being carried on a chain. The Protector Palm Pistol was first patented and built in France in 1882 by Jacques Turbiaux and sold as the "Turbiaux Le Protector". Later in 1883, it was built in the USA as The Protect by the Minneapolis Firearms Co. and Chicago Fire Arms Co., this model gun is based on the Chicago Fire Arms Co variant.
The Hartford Protector Palm Pistol is a faithful replica of the weird pocket watch-shaped palm pistol. This pistol has an interesting design as it is a revolver-type pistol but instead of working like a traditional revolver would, this pistol has a turret-shaped cylinder and it rotates laterally. Although this model gun is a nonfiring replica, you can still "load" and "shoot" it as it functions just like the real thing, a great piece of living history to own.
