The P220 was developed in 1975 for the Swiss Army by SIG Sauer to replace their SIG P210 which was adopted right after World War 2. Subsequently, other nations started to adopt the P220, which included the Japanese Self-Defense Forces which adopted the P220 as the Minebea P9 in 1982. This particular P220 Airsoft gun is a faithful replica of the service sidearm of the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF).
The previous HW P220 Self-Defense Force model had a special lightweight slide with the "heavyweight" portion mainly balanced at the grip, but this time both the frame and slide are made of a new zinc powder-infused heavy-weight resin. This model has improved durability in all respects, including a recoil guide with a shock-absorbing SP buffer, an elastomer hammer stop measures to prevent wear on the slide-stop groove, and an anti-rust treatment for the presses. The grip has an additional weight inside to further add to its "heavyweight". The model gun comes with a 9-round magazine and 5 dummy cap rounds. A great piece for collectors or as a center piece for display.
