Description

The Smith & Wesson Victory Model also known as the Smith & Wesson Military and Police, Smith & Wesson .38 Hand Ejector Model of 1899, and a bunch of other names. Only until the 1950s, Smith & Wesson would designate all these revolvers under the same name, the Model 10, part of Smith & Wesson's K Frame revolvers, thank god for that. So what makes the Victory Model differ from the other variations of the Model 10? Well, During World War 2, the Allies' main sidearm is the M1911 / M1911A1 and the FN Hi-Power, since the FN factory is under Nazi control and with not enough 1911 pistols to be issued, the War Department pushed Smith & Wesson to help with the war effort and they did with the Victory Model, these went into service and were given to other Allied Powers under the Lend-Lease program. The Smith & Wesson Victory Model was only produced from 1942 to 1945 but a whopping 850,000 units were made in various calibers to support the war effort.

That being said, the Smith & Wesson Victory model revolver tends to have a slimmer barrel profile compare to modern-day Model 10, has a lanyard loop and the grip profile is more catered to a one-handed shooting style. The Hartford S&W Victory Model Heavyweight Revolver Model Gun is a faithful replica of the World War 2 sidearm that is least talked about today. This model gun although the externals are mostly made of plastics, it is made of heavyweight plastics and it does not look or feel plastic until you have handled it for a bit, most likely due to the metals used in some of the external parts like the trigger and hammer, the grips are real wood too, which helps with the feel of the gun as well.

If you are looking for a world war 2 sidearm for prop use, training, or even as a wall hanger, this Hartford S&W Victory Model is the model gun you need.
