A first from Viva Arms Airsoft, the Ranch Boy rifle is a .22 stylised rifle in a GBB configuration. The Ranch Boy, along with .22 rifles, serves as an excellent introductory starter rifle and a small game/varmint rifle for hunters and ranchers, hence the naming inspiration. The rifle features an officially licensed Samson Manufacturing B-TM chassis and a folding stock, complemented by a stunning genuine walnut wood chassis, replicating it's real steel counterpart, along with the Samson Swivel Stud QD Adapter, Flash Hider and B-TM Barrel Band. Viva replicates this rifle in its GBB form, maintaining the same wooden chassis, with a CNC aluminium receiver and stock that provide a lightweight yet robust rifle weighing just 1694 grams! It includes a birdcage flash hider on a 14mm CCW threaded outer barrel, with adjustable sights to accommodate the user's zeroing and ranging needs. The rifle is equipped with a Picatinny top rail interface for the installation of optics and peripheral devices, along with a pistol grip that facilitates precise shooting. Moving rearwards, the B-TM folding stock allows the Ranch Boy to be compacted for transportation or improved handling in confined spaces, or unfolded for an additional point of contact for accurate, precision shooting at range. The rifle features QD points for the convenient mounting of QD slings.
At its core is a Novritsch SSQ22 system, housed in a CNC aluminium and walnut wood material. This beautifully crafted rifle is reinforced with steel components in high-stress areas, enhancing its longevity. As an SSQ22-based system, it features an easily accessible TDC hop dial located on the Picatinny top rail interface, allowing for tool-free adjustments, making this rifle convenient for on-the-fly modifications. This engineering significantly enhances shot-to-shot performance by applying vertical pressure to the BB for a straighter, longer, and more stable trajectory. Behind the magazine release is the fire selector, which allows for Safe, Semi, and Full Auto fire modes, enabling shooters to adjust the rifle's rate of fire to suit their situation. As a Novritsch SSQ, and technically its original predecessor, the KJ KC02, the rifle is cross-compatible with KC02 and SSQ components, such as the magazines.
This rifle is an excellent addition for enthusiasts of the Ranch Boy design aesthetic or those wishing to own the venerable KC02 system; this lightweight rifle is undoubtedly a worthwhile investment.
