The VFC, fully licensed, Knights Armament SR16-E3 is a subtly updated M4/AR15 weapons platform that features quality-of-life upgrades from the standard military issue M4/AR15 patterned rifles.
QoL updates like the fully ambidextrous fire selector switch, bolt release tabs, and magazine release are introduced, making the weapons platform that much more accessible for left-handed shooters right of the bat. The SR16-E3 also features a fully licensed M-LOK handguard with full KAC markings and corresponding markings on the receiver. The MLOK handguard is extremely lightweight, sturdy, and has a no-nonsense, down-to-business kind of look, giving the rifle a really distinct silhouette. The rifle has two QD (Quick Detach) points, one on the rear of the receiver and one on the rear of the handguard for attaching a weapon retention sling without adding additional bulk of external-mounted QD sling point attachments. The stock is fully adjustable with five positions to choose from, and the stock is rock solid when locking in place.
Internally, the rifle utilizes the older, legacy V1 fire control group and bolt carrier system, but is fully compatible with V2 and V3 gas magazines. The legacy V1 system uses steel parts for the FCG, but lacks the more refined, efficient design aspects of the later V2 or V3; however, it is highly customizable and upgradable. The V1 was known for its incredible durability and highly realistic trigger group, featuring a 2-stage trigger action bar.
Shooting the gun is a blast. The trigger pull is clean, and the break is crisp. The cyclic action and felt recoil impulse feel like the real deal, stout and snappy, making the whole overall shooting experience phenomenal, which is expected from VFC's legacy AR GBB line-up. The build quality of the rifle is solid with little to no wobbly bits, The magazine feels and weighs just like the real steel AR mags while fully loaded. All in all, a very solid Airsoft rifle build.
