The latest version of the Constantine 1-10x Low Power Variable Optic (LPVO) from Vector Optics marks a significant advancement in their product line. This new optic features a first focal plane design equipped with an advanced LaREE (Lathanide Rare Earth Element) HD lens, which boasts a multi-layer coating for exceptional clarity and high definition performance. The Constantine 1-10x24 HD is constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum, weighing only 582 grams, and has a compact form factor of 251mm, making it an excellent choice for competitive shooting, plain game, and mid-range rifle applications.
As a first focal plane LPVO, the Constantine includes an integrated throw lever for rapid magnification adjustments, utilising an etched VCO-2 MIL reticle adjusts its reticle size larger at higher magnifications and smaller at lower settings, allowing shooters to easily adapt to their preferred magnification range. The VCO-2 MIL reticle features a detailed milradian grid for subtension data, facilitating accurate long-distance shooting, along with a windage tree for making follow-up corrections in both windage and elevation. Additionally, it includes a stadiametric rangefinder for quick and precise range estimation of commonly sized targets, complemented by a larger donut ring for swift target reference acquisition at 1x. Incorporating the LaREE HD lens, the Constantine provides true 1x magnification, enabling shooters to engage targets with both eyes open for enhanced situational awareness. The 10x zoom capability ensures precise shooting with consistent resolution clarity at maximum magnification.
The optic offers 11 levels of dot illumination, improving reticle visibility in low-light conditions where the default etched black reticle may be difficult to discern. Powered by a CR2032 battery, the red dot illumination can last up to 20,000 hours on its lowest power setting. The capped turrets are designed to prevent accidental adjustments to windage and elevation, with an adjustment range of 35 MIL at 1/10 MIL per click, ensuring pinpoint accuracy tailored to the shooter?s preferences. The diopter compensation allows fine-tuning adjustments between -2.5 to +2.5, optimizing focus for the clearest image quality.
The Constantine is nitrogen-purged to prevent internal fogging and is rated IPX56 for dust and water resistance, making it a durable choice for both competitive and skirmish conditions. This iteration also features an improved eye relief of 100mm, providing a more forgiving experience when aiming. As a premier LPVO optic at a reasonable price, the optic is real steel rated, capable of withstanding the recoil from .338 Lapua Magnum ammunition.
