Tokyo Marui has created many industry firsts and are considered one of the greatest forefathers of modern-day airsoft. It is a fact that many of Tokyo Marui's inventions have been used for decades now, such as AEGs, the Version 2 and 3 gearboxes are still the most common AEG gearboxes on the field, the accurate VSR-10 system, arguably still the best spring action sniper system. With that being said, Tokyo Marui has "re-released" the venerable M4A1 carbine, except for this one being a low velocity version.
Yeah, we know, it's not what airsofters asked for but this is part of Tokyo Marui's brand new "R" series line up. This is a spawn of weird Japanese domestic laws, where adolescents aged 14 -17 can play with airsoft guns if they are under the muzzle velocity of 0.135 Joules or about 120 FPS. That is a very low FPS output thanks to an almost nonexistent inner barrel, however, this airsoft M4 electric airsoft gun still has a hop-up unit and has good accuracy for what it is offering. In an international standpoint, this is a great starter airsoft gun for children or newbies who want to experience the joys of airsoft without the pain factor, as the velocity is so low that you won't feel much just simply having a thin windbreaker on.
For the experienced airsofers who want to pick this up to play with said newbies, don't worry, this Tokyo Marui M4 AEG can still take standard Tokyo Marui M4 / AR-15 AEG accessories such as magazines and even optics as there are Picatinny rails underneath the carry handle, allowing you to further customize your airsoft electric rifle, not to mention this is a 1:1 replica, meaning adults could use this without issues as well.
