The S&W M627 is a model that bridges the gap between the aging revolver platform and the modern tactical R8,
Just like the R8 the M627 utilizes the S&W's N Frame which is normally reserved for higher
caliber rounds such as the.44 Magnum rounds, the M627 takes 8 rounds of
.357 Magnum or .38 Special, but it is not as tactical as the R8 which has Picatinny rails, allowing it to fit traditional holsters that don't support accessories. This Tanaka Works gas airsoft revolver replicates the Performance Center version of the M627, featuring textured, large-sized rubber grips and a brass front sight.
Tanaka has truly crafted a gem that, at first glance,
looks as if it is a metal gun. However, this detailed finish can easily
deceive even the keen-eyed among us, as the revolver is made of
high-quality heavyweight ABS plastic. Do not be fooled, though plastic,
nothing about this gas revolver can be considered "cheap" as it carries a fair
amount of weight and when paired with an assortment of metal parts, it
certainly feels as if it's a metal gun. Metal parts such as the hammer,
trigger, and cylinder give the pistol a real-life-like aesthetic making
it not only a great choice for collectors but can even be used in film
or cosplay as a prop!
The action of the gun is a joy as the
double action is smooth and direct, pulling the trigger slowly feels
buttery with no "grit" feeling at all. When the hammer is pulled back,
the trigger breaks soft and the sound of the cylinder rotating
exemplifies the effort Tanaka put in to make this revolver a standout.
