The original S&W M500 was developed to be a pistol to hunt large game, or even a survival pistol against large predators such as bears, using the most powerful pistol round - The .500 S&W Magnum. The Model 500 was built on the entirely new X-Frame, which was developed exclusively to handle the insane amount of pressures and muzzle velocities generated by firing off a .500 Magnum cartridge. It is among the most powerful revolvers in the world since its original release in 2003, and is marketed as "the world's most powerful handgun" by the manufacturer.
The Tanaka S&W M500 ES (Emergency Survival) is a faithful replica of the legendary 500 S&W revolver variant, although it will not produce any recoil at all, it sure does deliver in its weight and detailing. The ES model features a bright orange Hogue-style rubber grip, which allows for a sure purchase on the gun when handling a hand cannon of its size. This variant also features a 2.75-inch snubnose barrel, a high-visibility target sight that is windage and elevation adjustable. The hop-up is also adjustable by using the provided Allen key at the breech after swinging out the huge cylinder.
Tanaka revolvers have been famously known to be incredibly smooth, having some of the best triggers, hammers, and cylinders you will find on any airsoft revolver. All of this is translated nicely to this pistol, though it lacks the need for shells; its dummy shells, which are fixed to the cylinder, are able to house 12 rounds.
