The Streamlight TLR7x HL represents an improvement of the latest TLR7x series designed for compact pistol lights. It maintains the compact form of the original TLR7 while introducing a new light head that produces a higher lumen and candela output, effectively doubling the performance of its predecessor. Although slightly more elongated, which helps with preventing slide battery but still flush against your compact pistol, minimising the risk of snagging during a draw. This powerful addition is designed to overwhelm your opponent's vision, despite its compact size of 7.37 cm.
The HL, or High Lumen, features an upgraded light reflector that is programmable. With Streamlight's SL-B9 rechargeable battery, the TLR7x HL can deliver an impressive power output of 1,000 lumens, 22,000 candela, and a beam throw of 297 meters, with a runtime of 30 minutes - effectively doubling the performance of the previous TLR7 series. Alternatively, it can be programmed for a lower output of 500 lumens, 11,000 candela, and a beam throw of 210 meters, extending the runtime to 1 hour. When using a CR123A battery, the HL defaults to the 500-lumen output, providing a runtime of 1.5 hours. To turn off the light for long-term storage with the battery installed, simply twist the light reflector until you hear a click, which prevents accidental discharge. The light reflector is crafted from high-temperature, shock-mounted, impact-resistant, and scratch-resistant BOROFLOAT glass, boasting a lifespan of 50,000 hours, making this a durable weapon light for intense, long-term use.
Like its siblings, the TLR7x features ambidextrous paddle switches that activate the light. You can hold press to turn enable the momentary on or press and click to keep it on continuously, with the option to program the light for strobe function. The paddle switches can be swapped for higher or lower options to accommodate the shooter's preferred length of travel when activating the switch. The light can be mounted with one hand; simply snap it on and tighten the mount to ensure there's no wobble, allowing you to keep your hand away from the muzzle while attaching and detaching the light. You can also replace the battery without uninstalling the light by unscrewing the light head to access the battery compartment, replacing it with a fresh battery, and then re-screwing the light head to make it ready for use again. With its design, the TLR7x is also IPX7 rated, capable of withstanding wet environments, with a water depth of up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.
