The M4 carbine and M16 are not ideally suited for all missions due to their relatively long barrels, but the modularity of AR-pattern rifles allows the operator to easily replace the upper receiver. One of two proposed special mission receivers that were planned for inclusion into the SOPMOD Block II kit, the CQBR has taken off on its own. Like the proposed Special Purpose Receiver, the Close Quarters Battle Receiver has been more or less taken on by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (often referred to as NSWC-Crane or just "Crane") as its own project following the CQBR's removal from the SOPMOD program. Just as the Special Purpose Receiver morphed into the Special Purpose Rifle, and was type-classified as Mk 12 MOD 0/1, the complete CQBR-equipped carbine has been type-classified as the Mk 18 MOD 0, or the Mk 18 MOD 1 with a sightless gas block and full-length accessory rail kit.
This is the latest in Specna Arms' line of AEG rifles, the Prime series. The Prime series is the first replica line on the market to utilize a brushless motor in the stock, combined with the Specna Arms ?ther reinforced gearbox and the Magnus series rotary TDC hop-up chamber. The Specna Arms MK18 SA-P27 is fully licensed by Daniel Defense, which means licensed trademarks on the receiver and accessories! This MK18 is equipped with the Gate Aster II, which has Bluetooth capabilities, allowing easy ETU tuning with the GCS Gate app. The Aster II comes with a whole heap of features, but the most predominant is the Quantum 2 trigger sensors with its 35 sensitivity setting on the first millimetre bracket, and 680 sensitivity settings in the following bracket all the way down to the trigger reset base.
Overall, if you are looking for a gun that is absolutely no-nonsense, with high-performance out of the box, without having to go through parts sourcing and self-assembly (we all know the pain of putting together a custom build).
