The Shoei MP44 Model Gun is the quintessential replica of the legendary Maschinen Pistole 44. Some of you may think this is a StG 44, and you are not wrong, the MP43, MP44 and the Sturmgewehr 44 is essentially the same rifle with some minor updates in production. An interesting fact about this gun is that it is the world's first ever mass produced assault rifle as it utilizes an intermediate cartridge, the 8mm Kurz round. This gun was designed in Nazi Germany in an attempt to bridge the gap between the Kar98K which is a bolt action rifle and the pistol caliber MP40 SMG.
The Shoei's replica is highly realistic, once you pick it up, right away you will feel it's weight which is about 5 KGs, just like the real gun. the gun uses a lot of steel parts and the stock as well as pistol grip are of real wood. On the gun you will find many period correct markings. Although this gun is a non-firing prop, it comes with 10 dummy rounds which you could load into the magazine and the gun would chamber them as well as ejecting them just like how the real steel would, and you would want to charge this rifle, the sound it makes, it is just like in the movies when bad thing is about to happen.
For reenactments, or if you are a collector, you would not want to miss this beautiful piece of firearm and world history.
