Our latest collaboration with BATTLEARMS Development, the XIPHOS 9 PCC rifle, is an AR-style Pistol Calibre Carbine (PCC) designed for defence, duty, or competitive use. This ergonomically compact 9mm platform features a patented low-recoil, reduced weight, and wear 9mm buffer system. Its compact profile makes it suitable for home defence, as well as a truck or backpack gun, and has seen adaptation by the Taiwan Military Police Special Forces, replacing their outdated MP5s and Colt 9mms.
Introduced to the airsoft community as a gas blowback (GBB) rifle, it utilises precision milling with aluminium, reinforced with steel in high-stress components, creating a lightweight platform ideal for control manipulation and rapid target acquisition during skirmishes or competitive events. The rifle is adorned with licensing, trademarks, and rollmarks from B.A.D., showcasing the XIPHOS design aesthetic on its receiver, which features linear lightening cuts and indents to minimise weight. Equipped with a free-floating B.A.D. WORKHORSE M-LOK handguard measuring 6.7 inches in length. The 12 o'clock monolithic Picatinny rail interface includes a signature notch cut to align with the upper receiver, while the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions feature the modular M-LOK system for mounting accessories and optics tailored to individual playstyles. The 8-inch outer barrel is crafted from CNC aluminium and includes a removable steel flash hider, revealing 14mm CCW outer barrel threads for mounting preferred muzzle devices or tracer units.
Components of the XIPHOS 9 are designed to mirror its real steel counterpart, including a XIPHOS-style single-sided bolt latch and magazine release, with B.A.D. aesthetic for its pivot and takedown pin, ambidextrous fire selector, and QD endplate. This GBB platform includes a genuine B.A.D Adjustable Grip, which allows for an adjustable angle ranging from 17 to 33 degrees, alleviating stress on the shooter's grip with subtle finger grooves and a ribbed backstrap for enhanced comfort and control. At its end is a B5-style stock, offering 5 positions of length adjustments, with QD slots and sling slots for the mounting of slings.
At its core, the rifle employs a VFC AR GBB system, with a trigger box reinforced with steel components to minimise wear, including the hammer and sear, ambidextrous fire selector, bolt catch, magazine release, and takedown pins, thereby enhancing overall durability against gradual stress over time. The PCC features safe, semi, and auto fire selection, allowing the XIPHOS to accommodate and adapt to the shooter's needs. To ensure high-quality performance right out of the box, we have integrated the innovative and very accessible Top Dead Centre (TDC) hop system, which significantly enhances shot-to-shot performance. Accessible at the top rail where the receiver and handguard meet, the hop can be adjusted with a hex key, providing audible clicks of adjustments for each turn of the hop. This hop-up chamber features a meticulously engineered structure that applies vertical pressure to the BB, resulting in a straighter, longer, and more stable trajectory for each shot. Additionally, the system utilises a CNC aluminium bolt, providing a durable yet lightweight solution that allows for high cyclic rates of fire while remaining robust enough to endure rigorous use during engagements.
Unique to the real steel B.A.D. XIPHOS system, this Airsoft rifle replicates the last round click with the bolt closed when the magazine is empty, following the same design principle akin to an AK platform, where the bolt stays enclosed once empty, while the trigger goes "click", but can still be manually bolt locked by the shooter. Please do note that, due to the high-precision CNC machining of the internal bolt and trigger components, the RWA B.A.D. XIPHOS GBB Airsoft rifle will require a break-in period of at least 100-200 rounds to ensure that the last round-indicator functions reliably. As a PCC system, the rifle accepts Glock-style pistol magazines, compatible with our RWA EXA GBB magazines, and as a VFC AR GBB system, it can also utilise Umarex (Elite Force) / VFC spec. Glock 17 or 18c style GBB magazines. There is a plastic shim that is removable and is located at the rear wall of the magwell. Removing this offers enhanced magazine cross-compatibility, allowing users of our EXA or VFC Glocks to use them as secondary weapons, thereby increasing overall magazine capacity in their loadout.
