The Walther P99 like most German sidearms is a niche, exclusive and underappreciated pistol designed for duty use. It is currently serving in different police forces in German, Ireland, the Netherlands, Malaysia and some other selected units in Europe. The P99 is also very prominent in popular culture, famously being the Bond gun in Pierce Brosnan's era of 007 Movies as well as appearing in Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 during the infiltration mission known as "Stronghold".
The Maruzen Walther P99 FS Special Force Airsoft Pistol is a fully licensed non-blowback airsoft replica licensed by Walther themselves. Being a Non-blowback airsoft gun, the trigger is double action only, which is interesting why they have not modeled this and named this after the P99 DAO version which DAO literally stands for double-action only, we think that "Special Force" is a cooler name anyway.
Naming aside, the gun is of a robust polymer construction, making this gun lighter than most guns out there. The gun comes with a suppressor and a flashlight, it also has a Picatinny accessory rail attached in case you did not like the light that it came with.
Being a double-action only gun, we have to talk about the trigger and we think that this gun has only of the best non-blowback double-action trigger out there, being arguably smoother than the Tokyo Marui MK23 and the Novritsch SSX23 triggers, allowing for quicker follow-up shots.
The most interesting part about this gun is that the suppressor is functional! There is a notable difference in the report when you fire it with or without the suppressor, this will allow you to sneak around the airsoft field like James Bond or Captain Price and take out your opponents sneaky peaky like.
This version of the Maruzen Walther P99 Special Forces Fixed Slide CO2 Airsoft Pistol although it comes with a CO2 magazine it is dual-power capable, meaning it will also take gas magazines.
Please note that the flashlight takes one CR123A battery which is NOT INCLUDED due to IATA airline regulations.
