Description
The Nambu Automatic Pistol Type B, commonly referred to as the "Baby Nambu" among collectors in the US, is a compact version of the 1902 "Grandpa" full-sized Nambu Pistol. Designed for officers who preferred a more manageable sidearm over a standard service pistol, this firearm was chambered for the 7mm Nambu cartridge, which is comparable to the .25ACP in both size and velocity. Despite its diminutive size and lighter ammunition, the Baby Nambu replicated the sophisticated locking mechanism of its larger counterpart, contributing to an overall higher production cost. As a result, demand was slim to none, and only 6500 units were manufactured between 1903 and 1929 when production ended, with most being produced and made by the Tokyo Army Arsenal company.
This Baby Nambu model gun by Marushin is a perfect model gun replica of the original pistol. Its full-metal alloy construction gives this piece a nice heft and feel to it, while its gold-plated finish adds a touch of flair. The markings on the gun are deeply engraved, with this particular piece featuring the "Tokyo Houhei Koushou" engravings. This model gun features the same function and take-down as the real gun, making this a really nice 1:1 replica of the original Baby Nambu. The model gun comes with 5 shells that can be loaded into the magazine to simulate firing, with each rack of the bolt, a shell ejects from the top chamber.
