The Holosun Advanced Enclosed Micro Sight (AEMS) X2 represents the second generation of the AEMS platform, significantly enhancing the user experience for AEMS optic owners. Featuring a redesigned lens, the AEMS advanced optical lens reduces parallax by 50%, improving the clarity and accuracy of its 2 MOA green dot and 65 MOA circle super LED. Additionally, the AEMS X2 Pro introduces a new forward-facing light sensor paired with a solar panel, creating a more intelligent AUTO mode sensor that allows the dot to adjust dynamically to the optimal contrast for varying lighting conditions. For users preferring manual control, the AEMS offers the option to bypass automatic brightness adjustments, with 8 daylight and 4 night brightness settings available. The integrated Shake Wake sensor conserves battery life by turning off the reticle after 10 minutes of inactivity (default setting), while the highly sensitive motion sensor reactivates the optic at the slightest movement. Holosun has also updated the mounting footprint of the AEMS, incorporating 4 recoil posts to ensure absolute zero retention of the reticle, preventing loss of zero even if the optic is dropped or impacted. Despite the addition of 2 recoil lugs, the AEMS X2 remains compatible with mounting solutions designed for the original AEMS footprint.
Similar to other high-end models in their Elite optics line, the AEMS X2 Pro includes a solar panel to extend the life of the CR2032 battery, providing a secondary power source that supports approximately 50,000 hours of battery life. A distinct feature of all Holosun solar-powered devices is the Solar Failsafe system, which allows the AEMS to project its dot even if the CR2032 battery fails, as long as there is a natural or artificial light source available (dot brightness may vary based on light intensity). As an enclosed optic, it safeguards the reticle from environmental factors, with nitrogen purged and airtight sealing that prevents debris and fogging within the housing, protecting both the emitter and inner glass. Transitioning from the conventional T1-style 20mm tubular optic, the AEMS features a spacious square design that offers a window size of 28x22mm, nearly doubling the glass area of traditional tubular designs while maintaining the same structural profile. The AEMS includes a programmable multi-reticle system, allowing users to switch between a 2 MOA dot, a 65 MOA circle, or a combination of both, all while utilizing high-quality glass with a multi-layered coating that enhances light transmission and minimizes glare. The reticle adjustment allows for 50 MOA of windage and elevation, with increments of 0.5 MOA, enabling precise fine-tuning of the AEMS.
As a PRO edition of the AEMS X2, the housing is constructed from Grade 5 Titanium, offering exceptional strength and durability, with twice the tensile strength and five times the fatigue strength of 7075 aluminum. This optic operates effectively in temperatures ranging from -30 to 60 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for harsh environments, including maritime conditions. The Pro edition also includes two sacrificial lenses: an anti-reflective device lens to minimize light reflection and a clear sacrificial lens.
