The first USP Compact models appeared in 1994. These are scaled-down USPs, and are available in all the same cartridges as the full size version. Due to the smaller size of the frame, magazines for the Compact variant may have a handgrip extension to better accommodate the shooter's hand. Standard flat floorplates are also available for the USP Compact magazines.
Tokyo Marui did a very good job when it comes to replicating the looks of the USP Compact as they get all the curves, incisions and texture correct. What they cannot replicate, due to the laws in Japan, is the material of the USP. This means that the slide and frame is made out of metal while all the bits and bobs are metallic. This doesn't mean you have to worry about using Top Gas. The material of the plastic is strong enough to withstand the battering so long as you take care of your pistol.
Having a plastic slide can be rather beneficial to the user as it is incredibly light. This can only mean that the kick will be very snappy, much like the Hi Capa and the SW P9. It may make a 'clack clack' sound every time you pull the trigger, but it is rather loud which is very satisfying if you do decide to pull the trigger as fast so you click the left mouse button. This version comes with a under mount rail for flashlights and lasers which is a nice touch.
The power is pretty much standard at around 280 fps with green gas. It may not seem that high, but you have to remember that it is a pistol and the most important factor is the fact that it is a Marui, meaning that it'll be accurate as well as reach the distance other pistols cannot achieve. Speaking of which, the hop is very easy to adjust. Just wrack the slide and you'll find a spinning dial on the left side. The arrow indicated the pulling it down will increase the hop.
What we have found, with most Marui pistols, is that using 0.25 - 0.28 g BBs with green gas is best for accuracy and range. Anything higher will need at least some internal modification and gas with higher PSI. Overall, the Tokyo Marui USP is a very snappy, loud and accurate pistol. Tokyo Marui decided to update their old USP with the compact version, so at least their doing something different with an older model.
