The AEG iteration of the M14 EBR, known as the Mk 14 MOD 0 Enhanced Battle Rifle, represents a modernised version of the select-fire 7.62x51 M14 rifle. Originally developed to fulfil the operational requirements of USSOCOM operators, this compact M14 platform became part of the SOPMOD programme in the early 2000s. The design aimed to incorporate contemporary features, including a pistol grip, an aluminium body with a Picatinny rail interface, and a collapsible stock. Its MOD 0 iteration was first fielded in 2013, Sage International was contracted to provide their iteration of the EBR chassis. The rifle was employed during the Global War on Terrorism, excelling in long-distance engagements exceeding 500 yards, where the M4 and M16 platforms faced challenges.
G&G has adeptly replicated this esteemed rifle within their AEG system, incorporating advanced G&G technologies such as MOSFETs, and ETUs, while faithfully mirroring the rifle's external features. As a modernised M14 rifle, it showcases the iconic Sage International EBR chassis with a shortened 16-inch barrel, making it ideal for mid-range engagements. The design includes a skeletonised quad Picatinny rail interface, a nylon handguard, and a pistol grip for enhanced comfort, complemented by an ergonomic six-position stock with a height-adjustable cheek riser. Crafted from CNC 6061 Aluminium, the EBR is lightweight yet reinforced with steel components in commonly worn areas, ensuring a robust build quality that can withstand the rigours of airsoft skirmishes. The Mk 14 is supplied with a hi-cap M14 magazine, capable of holding 470 rounds of 6mm BBs, sufficient for both close firefights and distant engagements.
Internally, the rifle is equipped with the latest G&G components, featuring a reliable version 7 gearbox with 8mm bearings, compatible with Tokyo Marui AEG parts. It boasts a 407mm inner barrel for enhanced precision and range, alongside a version 2.0 electronic trigger unit for responsive trigger actions, and a version 3.0 MOSFET that safeguards the trigger contacts, extends battery life, and allows for programmable fire controls. G&G has accurately replicated the fire controls of the Mk 14, incorporating a functional lever safety in front of the trigger for secure engagement, as well as a twistable selector knob to switch between semi-automatic and automatic firing modes. As a MOSFET-ready rifle, it accommodates 7.4v or 11.1v batteries with a small Tamiya connection plug within the nylon handguard. Given that G&G uses a tougher hop-up rubber, it is recommended to use 0.25g or heavier BBs.
