The vz. 58 is a Czechoslovakian assault rifle designed in 1958 to conform to the Warsaw Pact's standard rifle ammunition of 7.62x39mm, the same cartridge used in the AK 47 / AKM patterned rifles. Although the vz. 58 may look similar to the AK family of rifles, its design is completely different. The only thing that is cross-compatible is the ammunition used.
ARES has produced this interesting Cold War-era assault rifle for years and since in the real steel world, the vz. 58 is still quite popular with civilians and private military companies (PMC) and modernized versions have been custom-made, following this real steel trend, the ARES SA VZ58 Assault Rifle M4 Version AEG is a custom VZ58 electric airsoft rifle that has been made to look like the real-steel vz. 58 that the aforementioned PMCs would carry and use during deployment.
This Ares version of the vz. 58 comes in its compact, tactical form, featuring a short Picatinny top rail for optics mounting, an AG-58 pistol grip for enhanced ergonomics and handling, an adjustable stock and an AR / M4 magwell adapter to accept AR / M4 AEG mags. Internally, the replica features a high-quality reinforced Ares EFCS Programmable Gearbox with steel gear internals, with Ares Rapid Velocity Tuning System for quick changes of the spring, a very accessible hop-up adjustment dial, a high torque motor and small tamiya battery plugs, making this a reliable replica ready to use out of the box.
