The M16 rifle (officially designated Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16) is a family of assault rifles adapted from the ArmaLite AR-15 rifle for the United States military. The original M16 rifle was a 5.56x45mm automatic rifle with a 20-round magazine. The modernization of the M16 platform resulted in a number of different iterations that pushed the limits to what the M16 assault rifle was capable of. And so further down the line of development, the M16A3 was born.
The M16A3 is a modified version of the M16A2 adopted in small numbers by the U.S. Navy SEALs, Seabees, US security units, and the Philippine National Police. It is also featured and made famous to the populus due to it appearing in military themed movies like Black Hawk Down and popular video games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare or Battlefield 4. It features the M16A1 selective fire trigger group, which provides "safe," "semi-automatic," and "fully automatic" modes. Otherwise, it is externally similar to the M16A2. There were two versions of the M16A3: the M16A3E1 and M16A3E2. The E1 was a fixed carry handle model, whereas the E2 was a removable carry handle.
This particular M16A3 AEG Airsoft gun is made and produced by ARES. Externally, this is what one would expect, a full metal constructed, standard infantry-style rifle with only a top Picatinny rail that has a detachable carry handle. However, internally this gun is equipped with ARES' new V2 E.F.C.S. M4 Gearbox and features a quick-change spring system that allows you to change the piston spring with relative ease without having to disassemble the gearbox (we all know how much of a hassle that is). The heart of this gun, the E.F.C.S. (Electric Fire Control System) V2 gearbox allows the user to control the operation of the trigger box, allowing for a smooth operation and shortens the motor reaction time during trigger activation. The gearbox also has a built-in MOSFET module and is compatible with ARES's Gearbox Programmer Module (E-GB-P01) which allows the user to change firing modes with ease. Lastly, the gun comes with a 130 round mid-capacity AEG AR magazine which allows the user to lay down plenty firepower before having to reload.
